A new update has been released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The patch rebalances an assortment of weapons, fixes some common bugs, and makes a significant change to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play.
The new patch comes after Call of Duty's recent introduction of Season 2. The major update introduced plenty of new features to Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer, such as new maps, game modes, weapons, and more. Warzone also received a new map in the returning Fortune's Keep, a new game mode in Ranked Resurgence, and the same new weapons that Modern Warfare 3 received. While Call of Duty's next major update is presumably about a month away, which will be a Season 2 Reloaded patch, Call of Duty just released its newest minor update.
The fresh update introduces some significant balance changes to Modern Warfare 3 by buffing the Striker 9 SMG, TAQ Evolvere LMG, WSP Stinger handgun, and the Longbow's JAK Tyrant 762 kit. The Striker 9's recoil is now much more manageable, the TAQ Evolvere's two ammo types are buffed to better represent their unique benefits, the Stinger's recoil is reduced and its damage is increased, and the Longbow's JAK Tyrant kit is now easier to handle. The same weapons also saw adjustments in Warzone.
The new Call of Duty update also made a major change to Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play by restricting all sniper rifles, which can be quite overpowered in the right hands on certain maps and modes. Sub Base Hardpoint was also removed from Ranked Play. Additionally, the patch introduced plenty of bug fixes for both games, including a common issue that saw Modern Warfare 3 Assassin Vest users unable to equip lethal equipment.
Call of Duty has also revealed the new Multiplayer playlists coming tomorrow on February 14, which includes a 24/7 playlist for Departures, one of Modern Warfare 3's new Season 2 maps. The other new playlists include Hordepoint: Hellhound Pound and Snipers Only. While these are promising additions, fans can expect
