Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch a new Mass Outbreak event that puts Voltorb, Foongus, and «mystery Pokemon» Hisuian Voltorb. Game Freak has been keeping Pokemon fans playing Scarlet and Violet through a steady stream of new content. This has included paid DLC with the two expansions that make up The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero along with plenty of free updates over the last couple of years.
Free Pokemon Scarlet and Violet updates have swapped in new raid bosses and have launched Mass Outbreak events, giving players the chance to expand their collection and better-complete their Paldea region Pokedex. For the uninitiated, Mass Outbreaks are special events where a particular Pokemon species starts spawning in great quantities. Anyone interested in participating in the latest one will want to make sure that their copies of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been updated to the latest versions.
As long as one has the latest updates for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and an Internet connection, they will be able to participate in the new Mass Outbreak event from now until Tuesday, February 27 at 3:59pm PST. This iteration of the event puts the spotlight on Voltorb, Foongus, and the mystery Pokemon, which has since been revealed to be Hisuian Voltorb. Hisuian Voltorb was first introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus as a regional variant of the Generation 1 Pokemon Voltorb.
Catching Hisuian Voltorb will give Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players the chance to add yet another Pokemon to their collection that first appeared in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Players can evolve Hisuian Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode using a Leaf Stone. While Hisuian Voltorb and Hisuian Electrode retain the Electric typing of their Gen 1 counterparts, they are also Grass-types as well.
This new Mass Outbreak event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet should help keep fans busy while they wait for Pokemon Day. Pokemon Day 2024 takes place on Tuesday, February 27, with a special Pokemon Presents premiering at 6am PST
