Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone fans have been gifted free double XP tokens. This comes as part of an apology for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's recent issues.
Last week, on February 23, major problems were introduced to Call of Duty that saw the game become partially unplayable for most of the day. User progression in both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone stopped functioning correctly and fan-favorite modes like Zombies, Ranked Play, and Ranked Resurgence were taken offline while Call of Duty's development teams rushed to solve the issues. Thankfully, Call of Duty returned to a healthy state within 24 hours, but it decided to gift fans with some free rewards in exchange for the frustrating problems.
Call of Duty's Twitter account announced that players should now see a one-hour token for double XP, double Battle Pass XP, and double weapon XP in their inventories. The tweet also mentioned that Call of Duty's previous double XP event was extended into the morning of February 27, but this event has since ended. The free double weapon XP token can be used to quickly level up Call of Duty's new Season 2 weapons, the BP50 assault rifle and RAM-9 submachine gun. Additionally, the double Battle Pass XP token can be used to quickly unlock a handful of tiers for Season 2, which can unlock even more double XP tokens. These recent offerings aren't the only free items thatCall of Duty fans can get their hands on.
Call of Duty is currently offering fans a free Monster Energy-themed operator skin. The skin, called The Beast, lets the user don a motocross outfit that features Monster's signature black and green colors. It's not clear how long this offer is available for, so interested users probably shouldn't wait to claim it. This reward is available to all Call of Duty fans and is not locked behind a certain platform or subscription service.
