HoYoverse, with its absurd gacha-fuelled riches, has taken to releasing more and more animated shorts to promote its game’s updates. This latest five-minute Honkai: Star Rail clip delves a little deeper into the relationship between Black Swan and Acheron, the latter of whom will headline the v2.1 update which is launching next week.
Here's how it could look
For those who haven’t been keeping up with the Penacony storyline, effectively Black Swan is a Memokeeper from the Garden of Recollection, which means she’s capable of seeing into the souls of her subjects and reading their memories. In this instance, however, her subject harbours memories that probably shouldn’t be seen.
The whole sequence unfolds during a particularly tense dance, with some beautiful animation work and striking moments. It’s pretty high budget for something that’s been uploaded for free to YouTube, but ultimately we suspect the sales of Acheron will more than cover the costs. Personally, we can’t wait to add her to our lineup.

It's almost like Genshin funds their more creative projects for their other games. Not that Honkai doesn't make money too.
@ATaco I think generally they just have more money than they know what to do with.
@get2sammyb Yup Acheron is a must have. Her technique to 1 shot enemies on the field and prevent encounters will be most appreciated while I'm trying to get all the hidden chests and puzzles in an area.
@z0d15g0d Agreed. Can’t wait to add her to my party!
This 50/50 is due soon. Please let it be Acheron.
Didn't they announce a Genshin Impact anime in 2023? I hope it's still coming. Maybe they'll make a Honkai anime too.
