Big Brother 24 has been full of surprises this season, from Paloma Aguilar's sudden self-eviction to the house flipping on Joe «Pooch» Pucciarelli and Ameerah Jones, and now another epic blindside is in the works. When Thursday's episode ended, the houseguests had begun to battle it out during the Head of Household (HOH) competition. Monte Taylor won this competition, so the Leftovers alliance will continue to dominate the game. The seven-person Leftovers alliance consists of players who came together when they felt excluded from other groups in house. Its members are Monte, Matt «Turner» Turner, Michael Bruner, Brittany Hoopes, Joseph Abdin, Kyle Capener, and Taylor Hale.
Because Monte is safe, his Big Brother Festie Bestie partners Joseph and Terrance Higgins are also safe for the week. Monte made the decision to nominate Alyssa Snider and Indy Santos for eviction, figuring that he could have the option to backdoor either Nicole Layog or Daniel Durston if he wanted to. No matter what, someone outside of the Leftovers alliance would go home.

According to GlobalTV, the live feeds revealed that Daniel and his Festie Bestie partner, Kyle, won the Power of Veto competition making them safe from eviction. Daniel believes that the entire house is finally on board with evicting Taylor, who was targeted in weeks one and two. After Daniel blew up at Taylor during a misunderstanding between Taylor and Nicole, he assumed that Taylor would go home in week three. However, Turner decided that Taylor had been bullied enough, and he formed the Leftovers alliance with the others in order to turn the tables on the others.
