Baldur's Gate 3 patch 3 won't be arriving today, developer Larian Studios has confirmed. Instead, the big patch will be deployed tomorrow.
The Belgian studio announced the arrival of the game's third major patch earlier this month. The patch will include tons of fixes as well as improvements alongside full Mac support. On Twitter, Larian has now announced that the team will be releasing on September 22 to ensure proper testing before the patch is released publically. "Patch 3 is coming, and it’s a big one", the Tweet from Larian's official Twitter account reads. "To ensure thorough testing, we’re releasing Patch 3 this Friday, September 22 instead."
So a slight delay for BG3's next major patch, but we can only support proper testing before a public release. Last month, Larian rolled out Hotfix 4 for the game. This hotfix, however, was rolled back due to the build causing game crashes. As such, the game was reverted to hotfix 3, but this caused issues with players who saved a game with hotfix 4 applied.
We'll update you as soon as we learn more about the contents of Baldur's Gate 3 patch 3. The game's most recent major update, patch #2, was released in late August ahead of the title's launch on PlayStation 5.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available digitally now for PC and PlayStation 5. The cRPG will also be arriving on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S later this year, albeit without split-screen supports on the Series S. Larian has promised to keep working to get split-screen working on Microsoft's entry-level console.
In case you haven't done so yet, be sure to read our very own review of this masterpiece from Larian, which is easily among the best games of the year.
