Conversation plays a huge role in , but contrary to what many might expect, staying quiet is often the best option. As a roleplaying game in the classic CRPG style with a vast story and branching interactions, has no shortage of dialogue options. What sets it apart from most of its predecessors is the full voice acting that applies to all characters in the game except for the protagonist, who makes occasional remarks but remains unvoiced in conversations. Although the implication that the protagonist speaks in the world of the game remains, doubling down on the silence has its merits.
Most conversational options in offer methods of propelling a dialogue further. These interjections include comforting words, provocative insults, and everything in between. The words generally speak for themselves, with the only tags that appear having to do with backgrounds and skill checks rather than universally categorizing responses by intent. It's also possible to abandon conversation entirely by attacking in the middle of a dialogue, although this particular option certainly doesn't achieve a respectable level of decorum.

Active dialogue options are occasionally joined by choices that allow the protagonist to stay quiet for a moment, letting the other character continue to speak. Although this approach may not seem like the best way to orchestrate events according to a master plan, it's often highly effective at progressing the story in a good direction. Just like in real life, jumping at every opportunity to insert a word isn't always the best way to socialize, and acknowledges this fact while still allowing for interruptions at just about every turn.
