Burdened with a refugee crisis, the Outer City region of Rivington is at a boiling point with interesting tensions and conflicts. It's also full of memorable characters and locations, although some are easier to stumble across than others. Proceeding onward before hitting a number of key points makes it easy to miss out on some of the best content in
It might seem like major combat encounters are unlikely to arise in the midst of civilization, but it's best to explore Rivington with a well-rested party. Whether ticking off guards or stumbling on hidden shady dealings, opportunities to get into a scuffle for potential rewards are numerous. On the other hand, a bit of tact can also go a long way in several stories within the Outer City area, and a party looking to do as much good as possible before progressing into the Lower City will have many chances as well.

Proceeding down the main road in Rivington reveals a well by the roadside, located across from the Open Hand Temple and in between The Rivington General and Sword Coast Couriers. Walking close enough to the well will trigger a perception check, highlighting it if any characters succeed. It's possible to descend into the well through the bucket mechanism and find some bodies beneath, which both point to the full extent of the troubles in Rivington and provide some decent loot.
