A Baldur's Gate 3 fan has discovered a book that can be found in the Wyrm’s Rock barracks that gives a surprising amount of detail about Dragonborn anatomy, revealing how their private parts work.
One of the most surprising things about Baldur's Gate 3 (especially if you were a YouTuber looking for views when the game launched) is how open and adult it is about nudity for all of its characters. Every single race and party member in the game can get in the nuddy pretty much whenever they want, including non-human races like Half-Orcs, Githyanki, and, Dragonborn.
If you choose to make your own custom character a Dragonborn and have them prance around without clothes on, you might think that their anatomy works in a similar way to humans, as taking off their clothes will show everything hanging out as you might expect. That's apparently not the case, however.
Over on the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit, Redditor shavedheadedbi shared an interesting bit of lore in the game that can be found called the Egg-Duty Clan-Call, which details the anatomy and mating rituals of Dragonborns. This piece of text explains that Dragonborn genitals only work if the situation that their in is deemed necessary, and that they retract if "exposed unnecessarily".
"The book then goes into vast detail about how the Dragonborn genitals internally retract if exposed unnecessarily, with excessively-narrated situational descriptions."
This might seem like it's just an interesting footnote that gives more detail about Dragonborns, but shavedheadedbi pointed out that it also gives some surprising context about our own custom character.
