DC and CCG Lab has announced that the collectible card game DC Dual Force will be shut down in February, barely a few months after leaving beta and fully launching. DC Dual Force is a free to play card game that had its full release on PC on 18th October. The open beta for the game began on July 14th, 2023.
In a statement, the development team said:
“We have made the difficult decision to close DC Dual Force. Players will no longer be able to make any in-app purchases as of today and the game server will officially be shut off on February 29, 2024. Until that date, players can continue to play, create an account, and use all their in-game items and cards. All purchases made on or after October 17, 2023 will be refunded automatically. If you did not receive a refund by January 31st, 2024, please contact Steam support. Steam will make refunds to the payment method used for the purchases. If the payment method is no longer valid or past the refund period, refunds will be made to Steam wallet. We hope you have enjoyed playing DC Dual Force. We sincerely thank all of our players for the support you have shown us through this journey.”
As mentioned, all in app purchases are now suspended with DC Dual Force set to shut down on February 29th. Any one who bought anything since the game released will get refunds on their purchases. DC Dual Force was first revealed in 2021, and had expected to release in 2022. Further reason for the shutdown were not given, though the game has received mixed reviews since its launch, and likely has not been able to compete with Marvel Snap.
