Arrowhead has teased “exciting” plans for Helldivers 2 after seemingly resolving the game’s server issues.
Over the weekend, Helldivers 2’s concurrent user (CCU) cap was increased to 800,000 players, and Arrowhead boss Johan Pilestedt said the move had paid off.
“I’m really happy and proud of the Arrowhead Game Studios team for an amazing Achievement, the servers handled all Helldivers 2 players this weekend without problem,” he said on X.
According to SteamDB, the PC version of the game hit a new concurrent player record of 458,709 on Saturday.
Looking forward, Pilestedt said the studio can now switch its attention to improving the game and working on new content.
“Now we have time to focus on improvements to the title and resume our original plan,” he wrote. “Many exciting things upcoming!”
Pilestedt said earlier this month that the studio was working on an updated content roadmap for the game.
“Our old roadmap is very out of date in comparison to what we now want to do,” he said.
And he recently said the company wants to recruit more developers to “beef up” its content plans for the Sony-published shooter, which is also available for PS5.
Sweden-based Arrowhead currently employs over 100 people, according to its website.
