Narrative design platform Arcweave announced today that it has closed its seed round of funding, raising over $850,000. Galaxy Interactive led the round with Genesis Ventures participating. Arcweave plans to use the funding to build out its platform, as well as a multi-modal, LLM-powered AI-powered assistant that can help create stories from prompts.
Arcweave’s tools are aimed towards filling a gap for game-specific scriptwriting tools that support multi-hour sprawling narratives that must account for player choice. The company says it offers a low-code platform with a simple interface that allows games creators to easily build their narrative. The platform is can also integrate with existing game engines such as Unity and Godot to allow designers to easily export their Arcweave projects into active game development.
Manos Kalaitzoglou, Arcweave CEO, spoke with GamesBeat about the funding and the company’s plans for the future. “Initially we wanted to build something that helps the game teams work the way they are now — they start with a single piece of paper, brainstorm and write things down together. That’s how we believe Arcweave should be used — write things down, organize them, convert them into a game. Since we’re a platform where we combine different types of media — text, lore, characters, audio, video, etc — we decided it made sense to explore the generative AI vertical as a way to assist creators.”
