Aliens: Dark Descent June release date announced in new gameplay trailer
Focus Entertainment and Tindalos Interactive have confirmed that Aliens: Dark Descent will release on 20th June 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Aliens: Dark Descent is a real-time tactical action game that puts you in command of a team of Marines as they explore yet another one of those pesky Xenomorph outbreaks after crashing onto an alien planet. You’ll have to recruit and level up your squad of Colonial Marines before setting out on missions and trying to strategically move your way through the large open environments, perhaps completing side objectives along the way.
Beware that death is permanent here, and with more than just the Xenomorphs to look out for, it’s got some real-time XCOM vibes because of that. Of course, since it is in real-time, the game has to figure out how to let you command a squad all at once. To do that, you issue commands while in slow motion and these are then handed out automatically to the most appropriate Marine in your control. This should allow the game the be quite flexible and adaptive to both keyboard and mouse on PC, and gamepad on console.
This latest trailer was just a short 2 minute look at gameplay, but it certainly looks intriguing and we look forward to seeing more.
