The Alien Hominid series from Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth will mark its first appearance on PlayStation systems since the PS2 days with ports of Alien Hominid HD and Alien Hominid Invasion for PS5 and PS4. Apparently «coming soon», the new versions were just one of a few announcements the studio made in a roadmap update video.
The PS2 and the Nintendo Gamecube were the two consoles to receive Alien Hominid first following its original release as a Flash game, and this new PS5, PS4 port is the HD remaster of that title. Alien Hominid Invasion, meanwhile, was a rogue-like sequel that acted as a reimagining of the original. Both will now find a home on PS5, PS4 in the near future.
Upon its Nintendo Switch release, sister site Nintendo Life awarded a 7/10 rating and concluded: «Alien Hominid Invasion's setup won't appeal to everyone. We were disappointed to find the mission objectives recycle far too often, and their random nature seems to rob the stages of any real individuality. But in terms of its handling, execution, and additions, Invasion feels much superior to the original.»

More Flash games please! Played the Steam version of Strike Force Heroes recently and it holds up despite being a relic of a specific point in time. My childhood was defined by these games, honestly as much of a part of my formative years as the GameCube, DS and Wii were. I mean, sure, a lot of the Newgrounds stuff has NOT aged well and their associations with questionably noncey artists wasn’t great but it was still the Wild West years of the internet. We’ll never see such scarcely moderated user-generated content again.
