Sony is sometimes accused of poor marketing, but when a game matters to the company, it always goes all out. It’s looking like a bulk of its spend this holiday will be concentrated on Astro Bot, as it readies promotional displays around the world. In Taiwan specifically, you’ll find an enormous replica of the eponymous android hanging out around the Citylink Mall located just above Taipei Nangang subway station. This is next to a convention centre, so there’s always plenty of foot traffic through the area.

In addition to a giant Astro Bot replica, there’ll be PS5 demo stations for those passing by to try the title, as well as a photo booth and the promise of prizes. Those who complete certain challenges will be entered into a prize draw for valuables such as a Bravia television, PS Portals, PS5 consoles, and Astro Bot DualSense controllers. There’ll also be a sticker pack available while stocks last.

You may recall earlier in the year, during the Champions League final, Sony erected a massive Astro Bot pinball table next to Wembley Stadium. The hope is that this will all help make the character a household name.
