Not long after Star Wars Outlaws’ launch in late August, it became clear that where its sales are concerned, it wasn’t performing to the level that Ubisoft would have liked. More recently, Ubisoft confirmed the same, stating that the game’s initial sales had proved “softer than expected”, and though specific figures weren’t shared, details seem to have emerged on that front.
As per a report published by Insider Gaming, Star Wars Outlaws has managed to sell just 1 million units worldwide across all platforms so far. Considering the magnitude of the release, and the expectations that Ubisoft had from it, those are far from impressive numbers. Prior reports stated that the game was estimated to have sold about 800,000 copies as of the end of August, which would suggest it hasn’t maintained much momentum with its sales either.
Ubisoft is hoping for a Holiday season push for Star Wars Outlaws’ sales, with the company promising several upcoming patches, as well as the launch of the game’s first expansion on November 21. It will also release for Steam on the same day.
Star Wars Outlaws is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
