Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead imposed a 60-day deadline on itself to address the myriad concerns and qualms of the riotous community. Well, times up, and Patch 1.001.100 is here, introducing sweeping changes to gameplay balance, weapons, stratagems, armour penetration, and difficulty across the board. Whether it will be enough to please the masses remains to be seen, but the effects are immediately verifiable.
Along with additions to the Galactic War map, an emote wheel, and countless quashed bugs, the patch notes are pretty expansive. If you prefer, you can have Arrowhead creative lead Johan Pilestedt take you through it in the 30+ minute short film above. For those without that kind of free time, the Helldivers Alerts account has a snappier demonstration for you.
Helldivers 2's next Warbond, Chemical Agents, drops tomorrow, on 19th September, where Arrowhead is also employing new tactics. For the first time, the premium pack will not include primary weapons, focusing instead on stratagems and additional support gear.
