Not every item on the Technology tree is worth the effort it takes to unlock. Players primarily gain access to new features by buying nodes on 's Technology tree. They gain a certain number of Technology points each time they level up, and can gain more quickly by finding and activating fast travel waypoints. Players can also get Ancient Technology points, required to unlock rarer items on the tree, by beating bosses. Once any Technology is unlocked, it also must be crafted, which may require specialty tools and rare materials.

Technologies vary greatly in uses and usefulness. Some of them are game-changing, automating base functions, elevating productivity, or granting the player and their Pals new powers. Others, like 's furniture and decorations, are merely cosmetic — but still nice to have around. But one or two items aren't useful at all, even if it's not especially clear from their in-game descriptions. Players can save a lot of time and effort by knowing what they're getting into.

Palworld's level 42 Ancient Technology is the Decal Gun Set, a suite of guns that spray images of Pals onto any surface imaginable.
