Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed that many highly requested features coming after the launch of Final Fantasy XI: Dawntrail.
As reported by GameRant, Yoshida mentioned these features in particular, that were noted by fans on his latest livestream:
Now, people who don’t play Final Fantasy XIV won’t realize this, but the big one that’s on this list is actually the visible headgear. To put it simply, these two races in particular, who have lion heads and bunny ears, respectively, have not had visible headgear since they were introduced in the game.
So, if you were playing the game, you may have gotten the benefits the headgear provided where applicable, but you didn’t get to see said headgear on your character. What makes this worse is that most headgear in Final Fantasy XIV is cosmetic and doesn’t imbue bonuses or provide benefits anyway.
So this was one of those things which did not necessarily discourage fans from playing Final Fantasy XIV, even using the aforementioned races. They may have even already gotten used to it. But it was still something that the fans held Square Enix accountable to, for them to fix.
You don’t have to play Final Fantasy XIV to understand that inventory space is a huge bonus for any game, especially a live service game that encourages collecting and stocking items. That will be welcome to newer players but a huge boon to the gamers who have stuck by Final Fantasy XIV throughout the console generations.
