Yakuza Fans Can't Believe Kiryu Isn't A Virgin Anymore

In 2018, Yakuza series producer Mayoshi Yokoyama dropped a bombshell on the Like a Dragon fanbase; "Kiryu is probably a virgin." But a new cutscene from Infinite Wealth shown during the RGG Summit changes that, as he tells Ichiban that he's "been around a few times".

Yup, Kiryu fucks. Or at least, he does according to Kiryu. It's been a heated (wahey) fan debate for years now--people took his substories in Yakuza 3 through 5 where he goes on dates with hostesses' and then ends up in the hotel district outside to mean that he had been sleeping around. But Yokoyama said that he's sure Kiryu "never actually lays a hand on them because he loves Yumi."

Maybe something more went on in those hotels after all. Or maybe something happened between Yakuza 6 and Infinite Wealth. Either way, fans are ecstatic to see that their favourite himbo has smashed more than vending machines and park benches.

Of course, not everyone buys it. Some think Kiryu is lying to Ichiban out of embarrassment or to try and seem like the cool mentor.

While there is a lot of evidence of Kiryu having had sex in the series, there is also some dialogue many take to mean that he hasn't. A bunch of kids start yelling 'virgin' at a character called Fighter while clapping their hands, to which Kiryu responds, "Well, it happens at different times for everyone. It's not like it's a race or anything. I think you're just fine the way you are, Fighter. You have nothing to be ashamed of."

Understandably, a lot of people took that as Kiryu relating on a personal level, confirming in-game that he was a virgin. This led to all sorts of fan theories like Kiryu being asexual,
