Mass Effect is truly an iconic series, but it's also been around for so long that many of us are running out of both ways and excuses to play. The Legendary Edition made everything look a little nicer for the billionth playthrough, but soon enough, everything becomes second nature, and we need something to freshen up our next run through Shepard's story. If that sounds like it applies to you, then look no further than this new mod.
MassFPS is, as the name suggests, a mod that turns the first game in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition trilogy into an FPS. While it sounds like a simple change, it's incredibly effective, giving the world of Mass Effect a totally different feel to the base game. Everything from combat to exploration is now playable in first-person, with controls and gameplay mechanics altered to reflect this huge overhaul.

"For the first time, the game's combat and exploration have been combined into a seamless first-person experience," says mod creator, Aphar.
They then go on to set out how some of the changes will affect our playthroughs. "Cover and visibility are now an important part of gameplay, as all combat cameras have been adjusted for the new perspective," Aphar explains. "This includes multiple depths of corner peeking/shooting and a dynamic lean feature."
As you can see in the video, Aphar isn't lying when they say the new perspectives changes how combat is approached. Here, the player is sticking to cover far more than most of us would, appreciating the level design that we'd usually be running right past.
