The Birthday Bash DLC is the second of three free Sonic Frontiers updates planned for 2023.
The first arrived in March, introducing a photo mode, a jukebox and new challenge modes.
The third update will add new story content and playable characters.
Today’s Sonic Central showcase, which is viewable below, coincided with the release of Sonic Origins Plus, an expansion pack for Sonic Origins which includes all 12 Sonic titles released for the Game Gear.
The presentation was also used to show off more of Sonic Superstars, the new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog game Sega announced this month.

Sonic Superstars lets players control either Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Amy Rose, and for the first time in a Sonic game, there will also be co-op support for up to four players.
It will be released in fall 2023 both digitally and physically, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
Today’s Sonic Central also included a new trailer for the second batch of Sonic Prime episodes, which will be released on Netflix in July.
