The AI-generated figure, available 24 hours a day on a livestream, is answering questions and chatting to hundreds of Twitch users.
With more than 35,000 followers, the stream says “whether you're seeking spiritual guidance, looking for a friend, or simply want someone to talk to, I'm here for you.”

Jesus is a bearded white man standing in front of a blur of glowing blue and white light. He gently waves his hands around as he speaks in a calm voice, with lips that mouth the words he speaks.
One person asked the chatbot to sing the Backstreet Boys, another wanted advice for playing RuneScape, while a third wondered if they’d go to hell for laughing at the AI-generated Jesus.
It was created by The Singularity Group, who describe themselves as driven, focused, and ambitious volunteer activists working on innovative projects to make a positive and measurable difference in the world.
“We started to realise with all these new AI breakthroughs that what is really becoming extremely important is that AI is being tackled responsibly,” said Reese Leysen, a co-founder of the group, to NBC News.
“As activists, we realise that this technology is going to move forward at an incredible pace.”
Leysen said his team aimed to one day build artificial general intelligence and AI that can “reason”.
