, one of the most highly-anticipated games of the last decade, is now available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Released in April 2023, the zombie-fueled RPG continues the long-dormant series' tradition of blending action and gore on the beach, however, with so many other major releases throughout 2023, the game didn't quite receive the attention it arguably deserves. While may have been in development for close to a decade, critics widely praised its satisfying, if simple, gameplay loop as well as the visceral gore engine that turned every encounter into a bloodbath.
Developer Dambuster Studios confirmed that the 2023 hit will be playable for all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on Xbox consoles. The entire experience will be on offer as players can take advantage of the online co-op multiplayer or traverse the zombie-infested streets of Los Angeles, otherwise known as Hell-A, solo.
The announcement came as a surprise given that was not one of the seven titles previously announced to be coming to the platform in February 2024. The game's addition to Game Pass left some confused since the shadow drop was only confirmed after its addition. Dambuster also confirmed that Xbox players who connect to PROS, Plaion's online hub, can unlock a Trickster's Smile knife and a new challenge of dismembering 1000 zombies to earn a legendary Malibu Nightstick bat.
Unfortunately for PC players with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, is only included in the service on console at the time of writing. Redditor Omargad18 spotted the release wasn't available on PC and, says the user, contacted Xbox support. According to a screenshot shared to the platform, the game isn't available through Xbox PC as it's currently only playable through Epic Games. It's possible the game will be available via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate PC when the Epic exclusivity ends and the title comes to Steam on April 22, though this has yet to be confirmed.
