A new trailer for has been revealed, alongside a release window. Skydance New Media originally announced the helmed Black Panther & Captain America game, which is helmed by and writer and director Amy Hennig, during the September 9, 2022, Disney & Marvel Games Showcase without a title.
The new cinematic story trailer (which can be found on the official Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel) showed Captain America and King T'Chanda (aka. Azzuri)'s Black Panther in action in Occupied Paris during World War 2 as part of Epic’s “State Of Unreal” presentation at the 2024 Game Developers Conference (GDC), showcasing the Unreal Engine 5.4 and MetaHuman animator tools. The title is due for a 2025 release.
While Captain America and Black Panther clearly have a mutual goal to take down Hydra, it seems like Steve Rogers and Azzuri will clash upon their first meeting. The trailer builds up the tension between the Americans and Wakandans, with Rogers talking about a «six-foot tall cat man with claws that can cut through vibranium alloy» as he sees the aftermath of Black Panther's attacks on Hydra, and expressing his concern with having another superhero running loose in Paris before ultimately showing the two Marvel heroes fighting on a bridge.
The trailer also reveals some of both heroes' allies, and a press release from Marvel confirmed these would be Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier who is also a member of Captain America's elite group, the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy. It also revealed an ally from the French Resistance called Julie, and Howard Stark, the inventor and father of Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) who has been shown as a key part of Captain America's origins in plenty of Marvel media, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
