Legendary Companion Trinkets Datamined in The War Within
With our continued alpha test datamining, we've discovered legendary trinkets associated with none other than our longtime friend Brann Bronzebeard, famed explorer and designated Delve companion in Season 1 of The War Within!
While we don't have a lot to go off of right now, this appears very different from most legendaries we are used to. Most interesting is the relation to Bann Bronzebeard, who we already know is the designated Delve companion for Season 1, though the fact that the trinket either summons Brann or buffs him if he's already present suggests that the trinket isn't just meant for use during Delves where he would always be present anyway.
There's also a potential hint within the flavor text, in that the trinket is «Entrusted to you by Brann Bronzebeard himself.» We may be reading a little too far into it, but that sounds an awful lot like the trinket could be a reward for maxing out some kind of level, friendship, or reputation track with the explorer.
Companion Trinket
We've also found a second legendary trinket, though this one doesn't appear to be for players. Again related to Brann Bronzebeard, this trinket only buffs the companion, which is of little value if he isn't actually around to deal damage regularly, and lacks the typical level requirements, vendor price, flavor text, or other information you'd typically see on such a rare piece of gear.
Instead, this appears to be a trinket for Brann himself, equipped through the Delve Companion interface, increasing his capabilities while accompanying players on these new mini-adventures! In this light, the trinket would appear similar to Order Hall Companion equipment, an extra bonus to help players take on the deepest of delves without directly increasing their own player power.
Delve companions can assigned tank, dps, or healer roles, and further customized with special pieces of gear.
