After a wait that felt like eons, has finally been released on PlayStation 5, now leaving PC players wondering how long they will have to avoid spoilers before the game is available for them as well. Currently, Square Enix has not officially announced that will come to the PC, although there are many indicators that it will. took a while but did finally launch on the PC, which would make it very unusual for this second portion of the trilogy to not land there as well.
Sadly, although evidence points to a PC port of happening, the lack of an official announcement makes it less likely to happen soon. PlayStation has an exclusivity agreement with Square Enix for the game, giving them exclusive rights for a set period of time. Any other platforms, including PC, that want to get a Final port will have to wait for that deal to expire before it can happen.
In the trailers for, including its most recent launch trailer uploaded to the YouTube channel, there is a disclaimer that states, "." This simple statement likely means that May 29 could be the date that the exclusivity contract deal between Sony and Square Enix will end. That is also fitting as it would be exactly three months from the PS5 release date.
Unfortunately, simply because the exclusivity deal may come to an end in May 2024, a PC release is not guaranteed to launch the next day.
This date for when the exclusive deal for PS5 likely ends does not guarantee a PC release date. It merely points to that being the earliest date that PC players can hope for, with a summer launch being quite plausible. However, the exclusivity deal for expired in December 2023, and, currently, there is still no word on when the PC release will happen.
