Chris Evans reveals why Anthony Mackie beat Sebastian Stan in their viral friendship texting contest last year. Evans, Mackie, and Stan are all part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and are best known for portraying Captain America, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier, respectively. All three actors have appeared in various films together, while Mackie and Stan also starred alongside each other in the Marvel television mini-series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
In March 2021, Stan and Mackie spoke with Josh Horowitz on the Comedy Central YouTube show Stir Crazy. During this interview, Horowitz asked the two stars to prove who is better friends with Evans by asking both of them to text Evans at the same time and see who the former Captain America actor responded to first. In the end, Evans texted back Mackie first, and then subsequently texted Stan a few seconds later.

Now, in another interview with Horowitz for MTV News, Evans reveals his reaction to receiving Mackie's and Stan's texts, and explains why he ultimately texted Mackie back first. Though this was a fierce competition, though, Evans swears he will always text both co-stars back quickly. A full quote on Evans' experience during the contest can be read below:
«All right, so I got both texts immediately, and I'm gonna be honest. I'm gonna blow Mackie up right now. He said in his text, 'Don't text Sebastian, text me first.'
