Chris Evans explains why he didn't shout his iconic «Avengers assemble» line in Avengers: Endgame. The actor played Steve Rogers/Captain America for almost a decade in the MCU, capping his arc off in the 2019 Joe and Anthony Russo-directed blockbuster. More than three years since he exited the franchise, he is currently busy pursuing other professional ventures, including voicing Buzz Lightyear in Pixar's Lightyear.
Over the last few years, Evans has kept himself busy working on other ventures, starring in Rian Johnson's Knives Out and reuniting with the Russos for the upcoming Netflix film, The Gray Man. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios has rebuilt the MCU through Phase 4, with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson becoming Captain America by the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Despite that, Evans remains tied to the MCU, as he's continuously asked questions regarding his stint in the universe. That includes some new insight regarding his experience capping off his decade-long run as the Star-Spangled Avenger in Avengers: Endgame.
