Directing duo and brothers Joe and Anthony Russo have given some thought to how they would further fancast the MCU. In a recent Comic Book interview, the pair discussed Chris Evans--who portrays Captain America--and why he should be seriously considered to someday play Wolverine.
«Evans has incredible range and great physicality, and he's real good at body control,» said Joe Russo. «He's an incredible actor. I don't mean this in a bad way, but he's nothing like Captain America. Steve Rogers is very controlled and quiet, understated. Chris is energetic and funny and charismatic, and he brings a lot of energy to set. I'd love to see him do something like Wolverine.»

There's at least one very real reason why Evans could realistically play Wolverine--the MCU's forays into the multiverse, particularly Doctor Strange 2, has plausibly opened the door for pretty much anything. There's also at least one very real reason why Evans could realistically not play Wolverine--he's seemingly retired from playing Captain America, and may be taking a break from the MCU. But again, anything could be possible.
Marvel veteran directors the Russos reteamed with Evans for Netflix's spy thriller The Gray Man, which will hit the streaming service on July 22. The film
