Lilith is the central figure of Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming ARPG, Diablo 4. But the question remains whether she is the antagonist or perhaps a misunderstood anti-hero. On one hand, she is the co-creator of Sanctuary, but on the other, she is also the Daughter of the demon Mephisto — the Lord of Hatred. Before Lilith would be known as the Mother of Sanctuary, she was the Daughter of Hatred. Mephisto, Lord of Hatred, was the very first demon to awaken from the corpse of Tathamet and his dominion of the Burning Hells has lasted ever since. Mephisto was a master of manipulation and used his cunning to pit his lessers against one another. Due to constant infighting, none of the other Great Evils could ever truly challenge his control of the Burning Hells. Mephisto would pass on these traits of cunning, manipulation, and intrigue to his children, the first among them being Lilith. She wielded these powers just as aptly as her father, but chaffed under his rule. Lilith would become bored with Eternal Conflict and saw her father as foolish, endlessly fighting the same battles on the same battlefields over and over again in a constant stalemate with no real progress ever being made. She thought, she knew, that she could do better if she was in control of the armies of Hell, but she would never be able to directly challenge her father or any of the other Great Evils directly for that chance to prove herself.We look forward to
