A new Diablo IV comparison video was shared online today, comparing visuals and performance of the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of the game.
The comparison video, which was put together by ElAnalistaDeBits, highlights how Blizzard has optimized the latest entry in their action role-playing game series nicely, as the single display mode available on consoles runs quite well - at 2160p/ 60 FPS with temporal reconstruction for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S, 1440p/ 60 FPS with temporal reconstruction for Xbox Series S, with only minimal stuttering. While the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions cannot compare to the PC version at the highest settings, they don't look bad at all, as their settings are comparable to a mix of high and ultra on the PC version. The Xbox Series S version is the one that comes with the most visual glitches, with clipping in ambient occlusion, shadows, and texturing, but it is surprisingly the console version of the game with the fastest load times.
With so many games launching in broken states on PC, it is refreshing to see Diablo IV run so well on a variety of different configurations. The game is also very fun to play, although it is, as Alessio highlighted in his review, not that much different from the previous entry in the series, not counting the much darker atmosphere that is more in line with the first two classic entries in the franchise.
Diablo IV is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. Check out some of our guides if you're just getting started on the game and want to make the best out of your first few hours in Sanctuary.
