Wayfinder Closed Beta Preview: Battling Gloom With Style
Action-adventure MMORPG is expected to release in late 2023, but recently had a short closed beta test for players to experience a taste of what the game will become. This multiplayer co-op adventure is set in the world of Evenor, which has been attacked by the Gloom. Only a select few people, the Wayfinders, can enter the Gloom to do what they can to push it back. The game is being developed by Airship Syndicate and published by Digital Extremes who also developed the game .
In, players can team up in a co-op MMORPG environment as the Wayfinders, who are able to withstand entering the Gloom that is destroying the world. The ever-changing dungeons are randomly generated so that players will never be bored with repeating scenarios as they defeat enemies and collect crafting resources. Players can choose from one of three characters: Niss, the dagger-wielding arcanist, Silo, the gadget-loving survivalist, or Wingrave, the healing Warmaster.

has an expansive overworld where players can explore and gain access to new dungeons, called Lost Zones, which can then be accessed repeatedly from the Gloom Gate. The game focuses heavily on co-op mechanics which leaves solo players struggling and overwhelmed by challenging battles. There appeared to be a way to call AI companions to assist in dungeons, however, this feature was not working at the time of this review.
was announced at The Game Awards 2022 with its world-premier trailer. Trailers for the game show off the beautiful graphics and steampunk cartoon artwork style of the game, as well as how many of the dungeons and combat works.
