Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will receive the sizable Datavault Update next month, which includes a new PvP map called Tomb. Operations players must also watch for a new Extremis threat, the Biovore, in Tyranid maps. But that’s not all, as PC players can look forward to a field-of-view slider at long last.
“You expressed how eager you were to get a FOV Slider since the launch. While implementing it has been technically challenging, we’ve finally managed to produce a slider worthy of our standards, introduced in version 6.0.” Several examples of the slider working on 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9 displays were provided and it looks solid.
There’s more, though, including new finisher animations on Rubric Marines, Zoanthropes and Scarab Occult Terminators; selling Armoury Data for Requisition Points; and a new difficulty, Absolute. The latter unlocks for those who complete one Lethal Operation and rewards a new pauldron and bloodstained knife as cosmetics rewards.
If you fussed over recreating the same look for PvE and PvP, there will also be an option to share it across both (patterns included). Console players can also finally toggle PvP cross-play with PC players on or off.
The next update will contain reworks to perks, though Saber Interactive promises more changes in the future. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
