The UK's undying love for all things Tolkien has taken The Lord of the Rings: Gollum to a surprisingly strong position in the latest chart. Accounting for physical sales only, Nacon's critically panned adventure has made its debut at number six — a perhaps surprising result for a game so poorly received that the developer put out an apology letter. The PS5 version sold best at retail, with 70 per cent of the share of all physical sales of the game over the launch weekend.
That's probably the only real upset in the charts this time; it's business as usual elsewhere. The top three is unchanged from last week, with Tears of the Kingdom ruling the roost and followed by FIFA 23 and Hogwarts Legacy. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has slipped from fourth to fifth, while Grand Theft Auto V has once again jumped back up, currently at number eight. Dead Island 2 maintains its position in 10th. As with Gollum, most big third-party releases are selling the majority of their copies on PS5 — physically, at least.
