Blizzard has revealed Threads of Destiny, a new animated short exploring the backstory of Queen Ansurek and her connection with the Harbinger in The War Within!

Initially focused on her mother, Queen Neferess, the short explores the queen's reign over the underground kingdom of Azj-Kahet: defying the Black Empire of Ny'alotha, seeing their people fall into to squalor, and her introduction to the Harbinger of the empire that was.

Although Neferess declines the offer of empowerment from the old gods, Ansurek too has heard the call of destiny, betraying her mother to align the empire with Xal'atath.
