Dracthyr player models have gained new animations useable by classes other than Evokers, setting the stage for them to gain new classes in the near future.
During Dragonflight, Dracthyr were designed specifically for the Evoker class, meaning that they never needed animations for other classes. However, we've learned in recent months in a group interview for The War Within Alpha that Dracthyr's class restrictions will be removed at some point during The War Within.
This of course means that with new classes, they will need the proper animations to use their spells, and while these animations were absent previously, they now have them for nearly every class! Below are examples of some animations for each class on the dracthyr model, to show how they interact with their unique wing and tail silhouette.
Shamans currently lack their combat-ready stance, but their other two class animations are present.
So far, Monk and Demon Hunter are the only two classes that Dracthyr lack animations for. While it was unlikely that Dracthyr would ever add Demon Hunter to its repertoire of classes (despite the male visage form having their animations from the blood elf rig), Monks are likely an issue of animation quality.
Given the lore-agnostic nature of Monk, it is likely that Dracthyr will gain access to the class at some point, even if not in their initial wave. Perhaps they simply need extra training to learn how to practice martial arts with those wings in the way.
While all of these animations are available on the model now, it is unlikely that all of them will be implemented. Not only do some
