The first official is here, previewing the upcoming comedy horror film starring Amy Adams where she believes she is turning into a dog.
The new Nightbitch trailer highlights Amy Adams’ life as a mother to a newborn baby. As she deals with the stress and exhaustion of pausing her career to become a mom, she begins to believe she is turning into a dog.
Nightbitch is directed by actress-filmmaker Marielle Heller (Queen’s Gambit) from a screenplay she co-wrote with Yoder. Alongside Adams, Nightbitch also stars Scoot McNairy, Mary Holland, Kerry O’Malley, Ella Thomas, and Roslyn Gentle.

The story centers around a woman “thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine,” reads the synopsis of the film.
Nightbitch is based on Rachel Yoder’s 2021 novel of the same name. The movie is written and directed by Marielle Heller, who previously made 2015’s The Diary of a Teenage Girl, 2018’s Can You Ever Forgive Me?, and 2019’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. She also played Alma Wheatley in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit.
Nightbitch is produced by Heller, Adams, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Christina Oh, and Stacy O’Neil. The film was given an R-rating for “language and some sexuality” by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) in June 2023.
