The War Within Max Level Campaign Chapter 5 - A Light in the Dark Playthrough (Story Spoilers)
With this week's weekly reset, the fifth and final chapter of the War Within campaign can now be played! We completed the questline to bring you all the details.
The questline starts with Alleria in Dornogal, who sends you to Hallowfall as the combined might of the Khaz Algar forces defend against an open attack from Xal'atath's nerubian forces. Alleria senses something is wrong — why would Xal'atath wait for us to gather an army, only to openly attack?
We arrive at the Aegis Wall in Hallowfall and report to General Steelstrike, who fills us in and asks for us to encourage Khaz Algar forces while dispatching of Nerubian attackers. Midway through this quest, we meet with Thrall and Jaina, who ask us to defeat nerubian commanders.
As we finish turning in these quests, a cutscene appears in-game — Alleria is bombarded by whispers once again, but this time they're not from the Void, but from Khadgar — Who once again reminds us that she's not fighting the real fight. After sensing the Black Blood surging on the battlefield, she learns where Xal'atath is and again goes after her.
We then head to the Priory of the Sacred Flame, which is in a very thick darkness. A scenario starts in the area, where we need to light our way to the priory while fighting the darkness and an ancient controlled enemy—Queen Neferess.
As we break through the darkness and spare Queen Neferess's shell, we enter the Priory, where another cutscene plays — the finale for the first campaign for the War Within. As of the time of posting, this cutscene is broken in-game, but you can watch it here!
Xal'atath is stopped, for now — And Khadgar is alive, after all! We return to Dornogal to turn in the final quest and complete the achievement The War Within!
