Visual Concepts has released the third patch for annual basketball game NBA 2K25 which fixes bugs and removes the magic t-shirt that accidentally gave players extra experience.
An update to the NBA 2K25 website revealed the patch notes which open with an assurance that "a number of" issues in MyCareer and the City have now been fixed, including one bug that stopped players progressing to the offseason.
Players who enjoyed a bizarre exploit for the first few weeks of NBA 2K25 being available will be disappointed to hear it's also been kicked, as Visual Concepts has "removed the 1.5x REP bonus that was erroneously attached to certain clothing items in MyCareer." The full patch notes are available below.
NBA 2K25 arrived September 4 and was seen as a step in the right direction for fans, as some of the more egregious elements like monetization and forced open-world traversal have been toned down.
IGN's review 7/10 reflected this, up from the 6/10 review for NBA 2K24. "A handful of improvements mean NBA 2K25 has a few tricks up its sleeve to be pleasantly surprised by this year, even as many long-term issues continue," we said.
That's not to say the game didn't launch with issues, as another very strange bug saw clones of players' MyCareer characters appearing either in the same team or against them in the campaign.
