The upcoming MCU blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder is the first movie in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe to be given a partial nudity warning. The fourth solo film in the Thor franchise, Love and Thunder will see Chris Hemsworth return to the titular role of Marvel's God of Thunder. Picking up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the film will also see returning faces Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Taika Waititi (Korg), Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), joined by Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russel Crowe as Zeus.
Last month, Marvel released a trailer for the film that raised eyebrows, revealing not only Bale's terrifying villain but also more of Hemsworth's body than people may have initially expected. Showing Thor bound before Crowe's Zeus and an assembled crowd, the Greek god flicked away the Asgardian's disguise leaving his bare butt on display for all to see. While the YouTube trailer managed to blur out Hemsworth's backside, it would seem apparent the scene will be uncensored in the final theatrical cut due for release on July 8.

Now the MPAA (via The Direct) has granted the film an official rating, with Love and Thunder earning itself a PG-13 due to "intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, language, some suggestive material, and partial nudity." While the PG-13 rating is fairly commonplace for other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what sets it apart from each of its predecessors is the partial nudity warning. Since its beginnings in 2008 with Iron Man, none of Marvel Studio's other films has ever earned themselves such a warning from the authority.
