Thor: Love & Thunder Photos Reveal Christian Bale’s Gorr Transformation
Christian Bale's transformation as Gorr the God Butcher is chronicled in new behind-the-scenes images for Thor: Love and Thunder. Chris Hemsworth returns to the MCU after Avengers: Endgame in his fourth solo film. Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder will see the God of Thunder going up against Bale's Gorr the God Butcher in the movie.
Disney is running a measured marketing campaign for Thor: Love and Thunder, keeping plot specifics tightly under wraps. But with less than a month to go before the project hits theaters, more details about it emerge. For starters, Waititi confirmed that the film is inspired by romance novels and will see Thor going through a midlife crisis. Meanwhile, his primary adversary in the narrative, Gorr won't be a straightforward villain. If anything, viewers might even empathize with the Asgardian Prince's next foe. Although details about Gorr's motivation remain scant at the moment, Bale's transformation as the MCU bad guy has been the public's favorite topic of conversation with regard to the character.

In a string of new images from make-up artist Bart Mixon on Instagram, fans can see part of Bale's transformation as Gorr the God Butcher. In the caption, he reveals that while the actor was able to shave his head during principal photography for Thor: Love and Thunder, he was unable to do so during reshoots, so they had to outfit him with the bald cap, and as Waititi told them, it looks good.
