Thick as Thieves is the next game from Deus Ex and Thief leads’ studio OtherSide
OtherSide Entertainment, the studio co-founded by the leads from Deus Ex and Thief, has shown the first trailer for its new game, Thick as Thieves.
Set for release in 2026, Thick as Thieves is described as an “immersive stealth-action multiplayer game” coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
OtherSide is led by Warren Spector (Deus Ex), Greg LoPiccolo (Thief) and Paul Neurath (Thief), and the group say their experience in the stealth action genre has led to the creation of Thick as Thieves.
“Set in an alternate history metropolis where technology clashes with magic, Thick As Thieves immerses you in a complex, detailed world of glittering wealth, a thriving criminal underclass, and a touch of magic,” the game’s description reads.
“As the upper class amasses wealth and power while the lower class struggles to survive, you weave your way through both worlds, pursuing treasure and glory with stealth and cunning.”
The game offers PvPvE gameplay, where players are given missions which can be approached in numerous different ways.
“Observation, clever planning, and crisp execution are essential, but with other thieves around it’ll never be that simple,” the studio says. “Improvisation and inventiveness will be key if you are to survive and thrive.”
In a statement, Spector said: “Thick As Thieves captures the vision of immersive gameplay that OtherSide was founded on.
“With this game, we’re empowering players to create their own stories in a world that values observation, craftiness, and creative problem-solving.”
The game will be published by Megabit, whose global publishing managing director Benjie Clarke added: “OtherSide Entertainment’s co-founders helped pioneer the stealth action genre with the original Thief and Deus Ex games.
