While speculation abounds around , one of the many things that remains unclear is what time frame the sequel will take place in. One of the few official things players know is that the studio wants to continue to work on the sequel and that they want it to tie into the new HBO show, but in what capacity or in what way is not known. However, there is one era that would make the sequel quite exciting.
The ending of Hogwarts Legacy felt complete at the time, although many were speculating that the reason they started in Year 5 was so that they could make a trilogy following with Year 6 and Year 7 in the sequels. While that could still be the case, the way the first game ended leaves room for them to move away to a new era if they should choose. If they do, they could still tie into the new HBO show while not coinciding with the more familiar eras of Harry Potter.
Moving away from any era that fans know much of, the school’s founding could be the perfect time for a video game to take place. It’s familiar enough to fans would be excited to see it, but so little is actually known that it would be nearly brand new to explore. There is a lot of unknowns beyond what was revealed in , and there is plenty to see.
While Hogwarts Legacy is a primarily self-contained experience, its sequel has the perfect chance to bring book characters to life for the first time.
Seeing the school look all shiny and new could be a fun time, like seeing the castle as it was meant to be. There would likely be a lot of differences between the castle that is more familiar and the brand-new one. It would give players lots of reasons to explore that wouldn’t mean exploring the exact same map that existed in the first game.
