There have been some rumors recently that will be getting a second remake, and I can’t think of a better game to get this treatment. Although my first two games — the influential and — will always hold a special place in my heart, is my favorite of the series. However, it isn’t just my personal bias that makes me think is the most deserving game for a remake.
Although it was released more recently than remakes of older games like or, the remake of is not easy to find. Re-releasing it wouldn’t only make it more accessible to players, and I think it could also impact the future of the series if it is a major success. Of course, I also just wouldn’t mind being able to play my favorite game on the Switch, as opposed to having to pull out my Wii U just to play a single game.
introduced a brand-new style of 3D games, but I’m still partial to the original formula. I like the mixture of open-world elements and more linear dungeons that was originally introduced in. This classic 3D structure was a best-of-both-worlds situation because it offered the sense of adventure that open-world games have, but also offered the tight level design of more linear games when inside dungeons. I think there is no better example of this formula than .
Despite the upbeat mood it projects, one part of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s ending actually works to obscure a tragic truth.
Compared to other pre-games, had a large map. Its greater sense of scale added more weight to Link’s adventure, because Hyrule felt like a whole kingdom. also did a good job including a variety of different biomes, from the scorching sands of the Gerudo Desert to the frozen tips of Snowpeak. These different regions also had beautifully realized dungeons that made sense as part of the world. One example of this is the Goron Mines on Death Mountain, which really felt like a mining facility and not just a random dungeon full of monsters.
