Developer Naughty Dog has confirmed that fans will be able to earn new trophies while playing through the remastered version of The Last of Us 2, and previously unlocked trophies will also transfer over. The Last of Us 2 Remastered is an enhanced re-release of the PS4 title, and it comes with a number of improvements over the original game.
Users will get access to a new roguelike game mode called No Return, allowing them to play as various other characters from The Last of Us universe. Furthermore, it will include three levels that were cut from the main game, in addition to some graphical enhancements. It’s now been confirmed that previously earned trophies will also transfer over to the remastered release, along with some new ones for players to unlock.
As revealed by Naughty Dog, fans will be able to transfer over their unlocked PS4 trophies to the remastered PS5 version of The Last of Us 2, including the platinum trophy. Naughty Dog has also shared a list of new trophies coming to The Last of Us 2 Remastered, and these will be tied to the No Return game mode. It should be noted that trophies unlocked in No Return aren’t required to get the platinum trophy in The Last of Us 2 Remastered, as it looks like this list will be separate from the base game.
The new trophies will require players to complete specific tasks in the No Return game mode, such as opening a safe without killing any enemies, completing an encounter with each mod, and finishing five gambits in a single run. One trophy will task users with getting an S rank in an encounter, while another will require them to win a Daily Run on Grounded difficulty in The Last of Us 2 Remastered. Additionally, two trophies titled “Team Ellie” and “Team Abby” ask players to complete all faction challenge tracks for the respective character. Overall, this move allows fans to further increase their trophy levels as they play through No Return in The Last of Us 2 Remastered.
