A talented modder has added Sonic and Shadow (based on their Sonic Adventure 2 appearances) to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, complete with voice clips and custom moves like Chaos Spear and, of course, Homing Attack.
If you're a Dragon Ball Z and Sonic the Hedgehog fan, then the next year is going to be a very exciting time for you thanks to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero and Sonic x Shadow Generations. While we could just individually appreciate both series, what's better than mashing together two beloved things into something even cooler?
That seems to be the logic that YouTuber MetalFreezer3000 arrived at when they released a mod for Budokai Tenkaichi 3 that adds Sonic and Shadow to the game with their own voice clips and custom moves. The most recent update to the mod, which adds the edgier hedgehog to the game, was recently shown off on YouTube, and it's one of the most impressive ones I've seen for a Dragon Ball game in some time.
Let's take a look at Shadow's video showcase first, seeing as how he's all the rage with Sonic 3 on the horizon. Shadow is based on his Sonic Adventure 2 appearance and has voice clips from that game, alongside a moveset that is clearly inspired by his Chaos Control abilities, including Chaos Spear and, funnily enough, Chaos Control.
Of course, you can't have Shadow without Sonic, who also comes as part of the mod. While Shadow could almost pass for a custom character with completely new animations, Sonic's origins are a little bit more... obvious. If you take a close look at the video, you can see that he's been modelled off of Arale, which is why he's sticking his arms out to the sides while he runs around.
Both Sonic and Shadow can also use the Chaos Emeralds to turn into their Super forms, which suddenly makes them fit into the Dragon Ball universe even more.
