Despite the expansion's delay, Season of the Wish continues to receive new content updates and balance changes as the developers prepare for The Final Shape's June 4 launch. The most recent content update, Destiny 2 update 7.3.5, marked major changes to the Prophecy dungeon's loot pool and the return of Guardian Games.
As reported by BungieLeaks on Twitter and TheGamePost, a recent datamine of update 7.3.5 reveals references to Ghostbusters for potential new crossover items in the Destiny 2 Eververse store. Text strings within the datamine include «Add Ghostbusters gear to your collection,» "Ghostbusters gear in Eververse," and «Who You Gonna Call?» However, no new armor files were found in the datamine, so BungieLeaks believes that the collaboration may only include Ghost shells, emotes, and other cosmetics. Speculation points to the Ghostbusters collaboration being a tie-in for the new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire film, which premieres on March 22.
Historically, collaborations between Destiny 2 and other games went live with a weekly reset. Destiny 2's Mass Effect crossover went live with the February 13 weekly reset, for instance. If Destiny 2 does cross over with Ghostbusters, the new Eververse gear could arrive with the weekly reset update on Tuesday, March 19. It's worth noting that nothing within the datamine has been acknowledged or confirmed by Bungie, so fans should wait for an official announcement.
