The latest Horizon Forbidden West patch brings improved CPU optimization and better performance in certain scenarios, judging from a new comparison video shared online.
The comparison video put together by MxBenchmarkPC highlights how, in both GPU and CPU-limited scenarios, the game sees a small yet noticeable performance improvement, seeing in some cases a 5 FPS increase over the game's launch version with lower CPU usage.
While the PC port of Horizon Forbidden West is among the best we have seen in the past few years, any performance improvement is extremely welcome. Alongside introducing various optimizations, the 1.1.47 patch also introduces a variety of fixes, such as some lighting and graphic corruption issues and others. Horizon Forbidden West is a worthy sequel to Zero Dawn in every way, proving that Guerrilla is no one-hit wonder when it comes to the action RPG genre. This huge and beautiful world has an incredible amount of things to do and most of them are really fun, thanks to improvements to combat and traversal. The game also features another great storyline that will get fans talking about the inevitable sequel.
