Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's current-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series has been revealed to drop on May 24, with save data transfer also being confirmed.
If you're a Dragon Ball Z fan, then the last few months have likely been an absolute rollercoaster for you. Not only did we get a new look at Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero (that confirmed Giant characters and Super Saiyan God forms for Goku and Vegeta), but we also got a current-gen update for Dragon Ball FighterZ and the seemingly final piece of DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
If all of that DBZ goodness somehow wasn't enough for you, then you'll be happy to know that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's current-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series has also just been given a release date, just over 24 hours after FighterZ's update was revealed and released. This was revealed over on Bandai Namco's Twitter page with a simple message sharing the date.
The Twitter post also confirmed that save data transfers from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are going to be a thing for Xenoverse 2's new versions, although exact details about them are going to be announced at a later date. Anyone worried they would have to restart with a new Time Patroller can rest easy.
We've known about Xenoverse 2 getting a current-gen update since last October, when it was revealed as part of the game's seventh-anniversary celebrations. That announcement didn't really reveal what was going to be included as part of the current-gen update, but it can be assumed that we'll be getting the option for uncapped frame rates, improved textures, and faster loading times.
That's not all that's coming to Xenoverse 2 in 2024, however. The road map that was shared for the game back in October also confirmed that more playable characters, additional scenarios and "other contents" are coming to the game as DLC.
